9 area companies earn spot on Inc. Magazine list (November 4, 2010)
Nine local and Panhandle businesses had a reception in Pensacola to celebrate their ranking on Inc. Magazines list of the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in America.
The Inc. 5000 list, which is calculated by a company's increase in revenue, represents a comprehensive look at the country's independent-minded entrepreneurs. These nine companies together account for more than $90 million in annual revenue and employ more than 450 people. Four of the companies listed are Pensacola-based:

Also making the list is the Gulf Breeze-based Web security provider AppRiver. All ranked in the top half of the list of 5,000 fastest growing companies.

Article: Pensacola Beach still rocking in the green |

Business is still booming on Pensacola Beach, despite the lingering affects of the BP oil spill and recession and high fuel prices. Overall revenue for room rentals, retail, food, alcohol and the sale of convenience store goods was up 36 percent for the month of March, according to Santa Rosa Island Authority revenue report released this week. Businesses on the beach generated $91,000 more in sales in March, for a total of $343,000, compared to the $251,000 generated in March 2010. Read complete article at:

Article: Master plan to guide Whiting Aviation Park |

A plan is in the works that will guide the development of Whiting Aviation Park, an industrial park forged in a unique agreement between Santa Rosa County and the U.S. Navy. Whiting Aviation Park is a 267-acre industrial park adjacent to Whiting Field Naval Air Station north of Milton that will allow commercial tenants access to the base's 6,000-foot runway. The Santa Rosa County Commission received an update on the ongoing work to develop a master plan for that park on Thursday from the TEAM Santa Rosa Economic Development Council and engineering consultant, Atkins.generated in March 2010.
